iDenfy's Client Support Team Lead, Gintarė

While many face different challenges at work, iDenfy strives to concentrate only on the positives. Of course, the major growth of the team proves that it’s working – we’ve almost doubled the number of our amazing colleagues in 2022. The bigger squad came with more responsibilities and opportunities. Today, we’re diving into another dedicated, hard-working member’s story who recently had a career jump. Is she happy about the new role? Let’s find out!

I’m Gintarė Venslovaitienė, iDenfy’s Client Support Team Lead. My career kickstarted back in May 2020 when I landed the Data Review Specialist role. Since then, I haven’t looked back. I feel like this is my place and my kind of work that doesn’t feel like actual work sometimes. I have colleagues that I can now call friends, and days go by so fast that I can’t recall having a dull moment with iDenfy.

The Needed Guidance

When I first started working here, I was hired as a customer support manager. After a year and a half, I gained valuable experience that led me to my current role. I’m happy and confident at the same time now as a team lead because I know all of the tricks and what it’s really like to work in customer service. Being in the same boat and actually going through very similar steps in the past allows me to understand the hardships that my teammates struggle with right now.

Specific updates emerge daily, especially when dealing with constantly changing compliance regulations. Then, the whole team needs to adapt and find new ways to solve the issues to the highest standards. As the team lead, I believe that sometimes the priority is not to find the right answer but to be empathic and understanding. Otherwise, there’s no team without guidance and emotional support. It’s like a boomerang, you need to choose words carefully to be heard and the same way you would like to be treated.

Planning Ahead

I like having a routine, as it helps me concentrate better. When I have the whole agenda planned, I don’t get distracted, and I sometimes do the tasks quicker than planned. I’m also sure that if you have a busy day, it’ll go by so fast that you can’t even realize it. Of course, there are times when you don’t have the power to program certain things. Still, I like to take the challenge and solve unexpected issues, especially when I have very helpful colleagues that are always willing to answer any questions.

After-work Activities

I can’t say that I’m the most outgoing person in the world just because I prefer not to take the initiative. If someone calls me to hang out, I’m always down to catch up and have a cup of coffee. I also enjoy taking walks in the evenings, after a long day at work, especially in Summer since the weather’s the best in Lithuania at this time of the year. The fresh air helps me relax and take my mind off work. If it’s too cold or I don’t feel like going outside, I take a puzzle out of my collection. Putting all of the bits and pieces together is so satisfying and therapeutic at the same time.

Recently, I’ve discovered that I love swimming. I become a different person when I’m in the water. That’s why as soon as I have some free time, I head out to the pool. After the whole day in front of the desk, this is the perfect way to strengthen my muscles a bit. You can say that swimming is a whole-body workout.

Colleagues Turned To Friends

Due to the pandemic, I don’t always have the chance to meet up with my colleagues in person. All of the perks aside – that I can nap during my lunch break or work in my pajamas – I sometimes miss the cheerful laughter at the office after hearing a funny joke or simply having real-life meetings. Of course, I believe that safety is the most important matter right now.

My everyday routine at work frequently changes. That’s why even if it’s challenging, I know my colleagues can cheer me up if I need a boost of motivation. We have our channels online for communication where we share memes or other funny random stuff. Also, we have a call at least twice a week where we chat and drink coffee together in the morning. Even if it’s only for five minutes, it helps to keep connected and share more of a human-like experience working remotely as a team.

Sharing Values

I appreciate the work environment. Even though some situations require quick decision-making, my team helps take the pressure off. Every single member of our squad is passionate and has clear goals. By sharing the same values, we help each other grow as better people in and outside work. Here, mistakes are part of the journey, which become a good lesson for the future.

As a team lead, I need to give feedback a lot, and I love that others handle it really well. We have discussions with the team where we brainstorm new ideas and how to improve our processes. I like that we have created a safe space where there’s no judgment; you can get as creative as you want. Oh, and we have the best team-building activities – from Sunday brunches to bowling or skiing – we’re down to try new things and make our bond even stronger.
